Continuous weekend work is expected on October 10 through October 13, 2025. The project will install k-rail (concrete barriers) along northbound Van Nuys Boulevard from north of Valerio Street to Arminta Street for advanced utility work. The work will reduce lanes on Van Nuys Bl in each direction from Valerio St to Arminta St.
October 16: This virtual community meeting is an event to provide an update on technical studies following the Sepulveda Basin Vision Plan process to inform the communities surrounding the Sepulveda Basin and greater Valley-wide region.
With major projects like the East San Fernando Valley Light Rail on the horizon, this was a chance for residents to shape the vision of their boulevard — a vision rooted in affordable housing, safer streets, thriving local businesses, and public spaces that feel like home.
“This event was more than just a ceremony; it was a message of gratitude, resilience, and unity,” said event planner Gwendolyn Posey. “It showed that when we come together as a community, we can create something powerful and lasting.”
The project is led by Pallet Shelter and the Bureau of Engineering. The project will have 100 beds available spring 2026.
