“I’m proud to designate June 17, 2015 as ‘Mad Men Day’ in Los Angeles,” said Councilmember Krekorian. “’Mad Men’ is a landmark television show that will go down in history as one of the greatest, most compelling character studies of all time. It is one of those rare shows that depicted the past perfectly through the lives of its characters, and probed deeply into the collective hopes, dreams and anxieties shared by so many people in this country. Shot almost entirely in Los Angeles, ‘Mad Men’ also stands out for its significant contributions to our local economy. The production created steady jobs for actors, writers and hundreds of below-the-line production workers for years.”
