Pancake Breakfast

On behalf of the 818 Week Coalition, it is our pleasure to invite you to “Saluting Our Firefighting Heroes: Breakfast with the Brave”, a free community pancake breakfast honoring the Los Angeles Fire Department heroes who protected the San Fernando Valley during the January 2025 firestorms.
The January 2025 Firestorm: A City Tested; The Valley Protected!
On January 7, 2025, Los Angeles was gripped by a sudden and destructive firestorm driven by intense winds and dangerously dry conditions. On January 10, Multiple fast-moving blazes ignited and evacuation orders surged in the San Fernando Valley as flames set fire to ridgelines and threatened Valley lives, homes, and businesses. As the fires neared the heart of our Valley, threatening the vital intersection of the 101 and 405 freeways, our firefighters sprang into action with unmatched courage. Six LAFD helicopters worked tirelessly through the night, drawing water from the Encino Reservoir to battle the flames. Their bravery, precision, and relentless efforts turned the tide, safeguarding lives, businesses, homes, and essential infrastructure, including the major transportation corridors. No structures were reported destroyed in the Hurst Fire near Sylmar.
