Neighborhood Council leaders from throughout the city are partnering with the Department of Neighborhood Empowerment to bring the 2014 LA Congress of Neighborhoods to City Hall on Saturday, September 20th. SAVE THE DATE!
In the meantime, you can take part in the 2014 Congress of Neighborhoods Planning Committee to prepare for the 2014 Congress of Neighborhoods.
The Congress of Neighborhoods is designed by neighborhood council leaders with “how to” sessions that cover both basic information and more advanced topics of interest. Something for everyone for all 95 certified neighborhood councils!
The event is FREE and includes breakfast and lunch, workshops, networking with City Officials and City Departments, and more. We had our first Congress Planning meeting on February 15th, and over 20 neighborhood council leaders attended.
In order to make this Congress superb, we need your skills to make it happen. We need help with the following areas:
-Workshops
-Exhibitors
-Outreach and promotions
-Logistics
-Registration
-Volunteers
-Fundraising
-Food
If you can help with any of these areas, then please attend the meeting on April 5th 12:30PM. Agenda and topics TBA.
If you would like to participate or have more questions, please contact Thomas Soong, Department of Neighborhood Empowerment (213) 978-1481 ([email protected]) or Cindy Cleghorn, Congress Planning Chair (818) 429-6699 ([email protected]).
