Department of Housing and Urban Development
Dear Neighborhood Councils,
As members of the City family, it is important that we share information with you regarding the grants that we receive through the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD); these funds are major investments in the City of Los Angeles.
Application for funds from these grants begins on September 15, 2015.
The City’s strategic Consolidated Plan (ConPlan), sets forth how we will use the more than $87 million in grant funds to increase economic opportunity, affordable housing, living wage jobs, and provide public services important to meeting the needs of Angelenos and improving our shared quality of life.
While Neighborhood Councils are not eligible to apply directly for these funds, we want your input on the ConPlan and how the grant-funded efforts may impact your community.
Community meetings will begin in October, 2015 and will take place again in February, 2015 after the draft plan is released.
Locations and dates of the upcoming community meetings will be posted to the website of the Housing & Community Investment Department (HCIDLA)
For more information, please see: www.hcidla.lacity.org
We look forward to seeing you there.
Julie O’Leary,
Senior Manager of Strategic Planning
Housing & Community Investment Department of Los Angeles
