Greetings My Fellow Citizens,
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. Our council is continuing to address the major issues facing Van Nuys and the Valley as a whole. I am proud to report some of the local Council Presidents in the Valley sat down and met with Congressman Tony Cardenas this past Wednesday. The Congressman is going to work with us on fighting sex trafficking, immigration reform, and making our neighborhoods safer. He is also reintroducing the Marilyn Monroe Post Office Bill in October, and has been a great ally in focusing on the concerns of Van Nuys. We spoke for over an hour about gang reduction, homelessness and the Iran Deal. We should be proud and fortunate to have such an engaging Member of Congress representing us in Washington D,C. and here in the district.
I am also reaching out to remind you we are having a Van Nuys Neighborhood Council (VNNC) Executive Committee meeting this coming Monday night at the Van Nuys Public Library. Thank you for your continued interest in our neighborhoods, and I look forward to seeing you on Monday night.
It is a special privilege to serve as the Honorary Mayor of Van Nuys & the Council President, and thank you for this great opportunity to be a part of our community.
