This Saturday, January 10, Empower LA General Manager Grayce Liu will join Mayor Eric Garcetti and Councilmember Mike Bonin as they walk door-to-door in Mar Vista to share information about the Great Streets Initiative and the Great Streets Open House happening January 25.

You can join too! Use your feet to discover this wonderful neighborhood and meet the folks who call it home. Click here to RSVP to Saturday’s event, and read more about the Mayor’s Great Streets Initiative here.

Mayor Garcetti’s Great Streets Initiative will take advantage of the underutilized asset that is our 7,500 miles of streets (that’s 15% of the land in the city of LA!)  to support thriving neighborhoods. Multiple city departments will work together to develop Great Streets that activate public spaces, provide economic revitalization, increase public safety, enhance local culture, and support great neighborhoods. By reimagining our streetscape, we can create transformative gathering places for Angelenos to come together, whether they travel by car, transit, bike or on foot.

Great Streets will be a bottom-up and community-based process, with neighborhood stakeholders involved in developing a vision for each corridor. After all, no one knows more about our neighborhoods than you.

The Great Streets Open House/Information Session for Mar Vista will be held on Sunday, January 25 at Fire Station 62 from 9am until 2pm. Stop by any time throughout the day to learn more about the future of Mar Vista!
