PurpleLineExt

Metro will be holding its first Purple Line Extension community meeting of 2015 on Thursday, January 15, to update the public on the progress of construction activities for the project’s first phase.

Date: Thursday, January 15, 2015
Time: 5:30pm – 7:30pm
Location: SAG-AFTRA Building, James Cagney Boardroom
5757 Wilshire Boulevard
Los Angeles, CA 90036 [map]

The meeting, to be held in the Mid-Wilshire District, should provide a good foundation for what the public can expect during the first quarter of the new year, and include updates on the project’s construction schedule, milestones and upcoming activities.

Parking is available from Curson Avenue. Parking validation will be provided. As always, Metro recommends using transit to its meetings whenever possible. Available bus lines include Metro Bus Lines 20, 720, 780 and DASH Fairfax. For the best route, use the Metro Trip Planner.

The Metro Purple Line Extension Project will extend the subway 3.9 miles west along Wilshire Boulevard from the line’s Wilshire/Western terminus, creating three new subway stations at Wilshire/La Brea, Wilshire/Fairfax, and Wilshire/La Cienega. Officials held a groundbreaking ceremony at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art in early November. Section one of the Purple Line Extension is expected to open in 2023.
