Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti and his wife, Amy Wakeland have raised more than $100,000 to replace 2,000 gifts bags destroyed in the downtown fire (http://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/la-me-ln-mayor-presents-20141210-story.html ). The Mayor’s Office is kindly asking for our community leaders to volunteer their time to help assemble these bags, as we wish to provide 4,500 bags this Christmas to seniors around Los Angeles. Volunteers are needed Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at 10 am-1 pm. The volunteer event will take place at the Los Angeles Convention Center Petree Hall , 1201 South Figueroa Street, Los Angeles, CA 90015. Parking is $15, we ask that you carpool to lower the cost of parking. If you would like to help, please contact Amanda Mejia, [email protected] as soon as possible.
