Tomorrow, Van Nuys will have Children’s Day Salute to Kids at Delano Park, It is an event to prevent kids in joining gangs, and from drugs and alcohol abuse. It is sponsored by The Los Angeles Police Department and the non-profit group; The San Fernando Valley Coalition on Gangs. It is committed from them to reduce crime, while helping children avoid getting into gangs, tagger crews, or trouble. Children’s Day, “A Salute to Kids” will celebrate the children in the City of Los Angeles by showcasing all of the available programs, including Football, Golf, Baseball, Basketball organizations, YMCA programs, Scouting organizations, Soccer programs, after school programs and activities offered at local parks. All the programs are designed to offer children healthy alternatives and activities to promote positive lifestyle.
The event will start at 10: 00 till 2:00 pm. The Van Nuys Neighborhood Council will have a spot to distribute Frisbees to the attendees and to enjoy the event. We encourage parents to brings their children and celebrate in having them be responsible caring person towards society.
The VNNC president George Christopher Thomas will be there and handing out the goodies to the kids.
