The Van Nuys Neighborhood Council called for a fan zone to be designated in the Van Nuys Civic Center Plaza during the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The board voted to send a letter at a special meeting on July 22 2026. A stakeholder also concurred during public comment that the Civic Center was the center of the Valley and should be considered a fabulous fan Zone for the occasion.
