Adrin Nazarian tiny home groundbreaking

The week of August 1, 2025, there was a groundbreaking for the new Van Nuys Tiny Homes, adding 100 more beds to help support our unhoused neighbors on their path to stability. That has always been the goal: to support those who are living on our streets, in dangerous and unsanitary conditions; and cleaning up the public right-of-way so our residents can enjoy a cleaner and safer District 2.

The project is led by Pallet Shelter and the Bureau of Engineering. The project will have 100 beds available spring 2026. The design calls for each unit to hold one or two people and provide wraparound care services to help get people back on their feet.

“I’m really excited for the opportunity to provide our unhoused an opportunity to have a safe place to live,” said Pam Bingham, vice president of the Van Nuys Neighborhood Council. “We know that many of our Van Nuys residents are not in the position to have safe and secure dwelling for themselves and even their pets; this is a win for our community.”
