Construction is now underway on Metro’s G Line Busway at Van Nuys Boulevard and Vesper Avenue as part of the major upgrades to build the new elevated Van Nuys Station and aerial bridges. This work, led by Metro’s contractor Valley Transit Partners (VTP), will take place through Spring 2026 and includes intermittent lane reductions and nighttime activity.
What’s happening:
- Removal of traffic lights and crosswalks
- Realignment of pedestrian sidewalks
- Installation of safety barriers (K-rail)
- Temporary relocation of traffic cameras
- Restriping and long-term lane reductions
What to expect:
- Van Nuys Blvd: Intermittent lane reductions between Erwin St and Hatteras St
- Vesper Ave: One-night closure to thru traffic between Bessemer St and Aetna St
- Pedestrian access will remain open on both street
- Metro Bus stops will be temporarily relocated—please follow posted signage
- Work hours: Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM–6:00 PM, and some overnight/weekend work, 8:00 PM–8:00 AM (weather permitting)
