Have you considered what you, your family and your neighborhood will do in citywide emergency? You can prepare yourself by taking the Free Community Emergency Response Team training starting July 8.

This seven week course is taught by LAFD and super informative on how to handle and work together on all kinds of situations. And it connects you to our community. Even better, it is going to be offered right here at the First Lutheran Church Parish Hall/Gym on 6952 Van Nuys Blvd.

Class 1 – July 08 (Introduction, Disaster Awareness)
Class 2 – July 15 (Incident Command Structure and Disaster Psychology)
Class 3 – July 22 (Disaster Medical Operations 1)
Class 4 – July 29 (Disaster Medical Operations 2)
Class 5 – Aug 05 (Fire Suppression and Hazardous Materials)
Class 6 – Aug 12 (Light Search and Rescue)
Class 7 – Aug 19 (Terrorism & CERT)
While students must attend all classes to receive a “Certificate of Completion”; the Fire Department allows for students to take a missed session with another CERT class.

PARKING: There is plenty of parking behind the church in back. Enter through the North entrance along Van Nuys Blvd. which is right next to Parish Hall. (Parish Hall has a door that opens up onto Van Nuys Blvd. for anyone arriving by bus or Uber.) Any specific needs, please email: [email protected].
