Congressman Cárdenas wants to invite all High School Students to participate in the 2020 Annual Congressional Art Competition. The Congressional art competition is open to all high school students who reside in the 29th congressional district. We decided to make it a photography competition to be easier for the students to participate, as they are home. However, we are still accepting the different mediums accepted by the Congressional Art Institute if the student prefers to submit a different art piece rather than a photography.
The winning piece of art from each congressional district is displayed in an eleven month exhibit in the Cannon Tunnel that leads into the U.S. Capitol alongside the winning artwork from other congressional districts across the nation. The winner will be flown to Washington, DC for a reception at the end of July.
All artwork must be submitted to the Office of Congressman Tony Cardenas located at 9612 Van Nuys Blvd. Suite 201, Panorama City, CA 91402 no later than May 30, 2020 or online to [email protected] if they choose to submit a photo. Artwork entered in the contest may be no larger than 26”X26”X4” when framed and may not weight more than 15 pounds. All entries must be original concept, design, and execution, and must be two dimensional.
