Homelessness Civic U Event

Homelessness Civic U

Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti and the Department of Neighborhood Empowerment will be hosting a Neighborhood Council Homelessness Liaisons Civic University on April 17, 22, and May 1st.  It will be a 3-day series diving into Mayor Garcetti’s agenda on ending homelessness and to hear updates of Measure H and Measure HHH. The 3 day series will be broken up into three sessions. Session 1 will be on Monday, April 17 at 6 pm. In this session, the Mayor’s office along with other speakers will be presenting on Mayor’s overall goals, outreach, supportive services/interim bridge housing, and housing models. There will be an update on Proposition HHH and maybe an update from the County on Proposition H. Session 2 will be on Saturday April 22 at 9 am and it will be a site visit. The Mayor’s office will organize a visit to a permanent supportive housing site and provide bus pick up for site visitation. The sites will be geographically close to your area for example West, Valley, Harbor/South LA, East/Central LA. We will let you know when the sites are finalized. The final session, Session 3 will be on May 1 at 6 pm and will be an overview and recap of Sessions 1 and 2. Topics to be covered during Session 3 include Mayor’s Welcome Home Project and next steps. You will have a chance to break out into your areas and discuss next action steps.

We highly recommend attending all 3 sessions to gain the full benefit of this Civic U on Homelessness. If you cannot attend a session, then please send a representative on behalf of your council.   Please feel free to invite your Homelessness Committee members or interested parties.
