- Public Comment (On matters within the VNNC Board’s Jurisdiction.) *Speaker Cards: 2 minutes, 1 Public Comment Time. (This includes speaker cards on any and all agenda items — a limit of 10 minutes for the entire meeting per Stakeholders and Councilmembers alike)

- New Business
- a. The VNNC to swear in and seat the newly elected Councilmembers to the Van Nuys Neighborhood Council assuming the fact that the election is certified and not contested.
- b. The VNNC to honor outgoing Vice President Howard Benjamin by bestowing on him the title of Council Vice President Emeritus, and thank him for his four years of service.
- c. The VNNC to honor outgoing Secretary John Hendry by bestowing on him thetitle of Secretary Emeritus, and thank him for his eight years of service.
- d. The VNNC to honor outgoing Council President George Christopher Thomas by bestowing on him the title of Council President Emeritus, and thank him for his four years of service.
- e. The VNNC to schedule ethics and funding training for current and newly elected Councilmembers as required by the Fair Political Practices Commission.
- f. The VNNC to co-sponsor the Senior Symposium with a manned booth and by participating in the symposium. The money will be going to OneGeneration and supporting senior issues. (NTE $999) http://www.onegeneration.org/events/
- g. LADWP Agenda request. The LADWP to brief the VNNC, with them briefing us on solar energy, rate increases and low water use lawns and gardens.
- h. The VNNC to sponsor the Earth Day LA at Hansen Dam. The VNNC to man a booth and participate in this event. http://empowerla.org/earth-day-la-april-23-2016-at-hansen-dam/
- i. The VNNC to send letter to the Governor Of California Jerry Brown in regards to shutting down the Aliso Canyon Storage Facility. The VNNC to stand with “Save Porter Ranch” and urge the Governor to shut down all oil and natural gas activities at the Aliso Canyon Storage Facility in Los Angeles County.
- j. The VNNC to send a letter to State Senator Pavley in regards to the gas leak at the Aliso Canyon Storage Facility. The VNNC to support Senate Bill 380 calling for a moratorium on injections at Aliso Canyon. A moratorium on gas injections would be critical to preventing another blowout at Aliso Canyon’s facility.
- k. Heaven on Earth, founded in 2000, envisions the day when there are no more homeless pets in the Los Angeles area. Our programs and events are aimed to rescue cats most at risk for euthanasia and to raise awareness in Los Angeles and beyond. The VNNC to support Heaven on Earth and the Spayship. - l. Ask Done why they can’t show City of Gold and or do a sponsor showing. Demand that DONE provide an explanation as to why they can’t show City of Gold. Request that DONE pay for screening to resolve copyright issues.
- m. METRO to present the VNNC a briefing on improvements to the Van Nuys and Sepulveda Orange line stations. METRO to answer any questions and discuss how we can work together in a partnership to improve the transit needs of the mid valley. (10 minutes)
- n. The VNNC proposes a five minute promotional video in conjunction with the Business Improved District. Produced by Bob Franco and Endorphin Productions. This video will promote business and tourism within the city of Van Nuys. (NTE $5000) https://vimeo.com/161577384 https://vimeo.com/161577383
