Help the Neighborhood Council Sustainability Alliance (NCSA) implement an innovative “Cool Blocks” pilot in SoCal; vote today!
The Neighborhood Council Sustainability Alliance (NCSA) is honored to be an entrant in the 2015 My LA2050 Grants Challenge, which aims to make LA the best place to learn, create, play, connect, and live. The NCSA’s submission, “Cool Blocks LA,” will build climate- and water-wise, disaster resilient, and socially connected neighborhoods in LA, block by block.
In collaboration with Neighborhood Councils and community transformation authority David Gershon, the NCSA will support neighborhood block teams across the City of LA in reducing their carbon and water footprints by an average of 25% while having fun, getting to know their neighbors, and building personal and collective resiliency.
The “Cool Blocks LA” program will also serve as the sole Southern California pilot for a follow-on Cool City Challenge across California that will foster environmental, economic, and social health of communities and cities across the state.
Public voting is open until Nov. 3. Please cast your vote today and help the NCSA shape a vibrant and sustainable future for LA!
