58% of Teen Car Crashes Involve Distracted Driving A new study from the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety found that 58 percent of teen car crashes involve distractions. The AAA Foundation analyzed nearly 1,700 crash videos from crashes involving teen drivers and looked at multiple forms of distraction, including interacting with other passengers, use of a cellphone, singing and dancing to music, and looking at something inside or outside the vehicle.
