TUX Bootcamp: Amplify Your Technology & User Experience Skills
Want to learn more about using tech tools to increase civic engagement and grow your network of supporters? Are you looking to increase your web presence and online interaction with your stakeholders?
Civic engagement and politics play a significant role in online interactions. A Pew Research survey shows that 39% of U.S. adults engage in political or civic activities on social networking sites, the most likely locations for young adults to take part in civic-minded activities. Many Neighborhood Councils have discovered the power of social media and maintain robust Twitter and Facebook feeds. But what tools go beyond simply posting and “liking?” How can you use digital tools to manage more effective campaigns and encourage community involvement?
On Tuesday, april 7, the Empower LA Technology & User Experience (TUX) Team will hold a bootcamp event in the Valley. We will go over digital tools including social media, NationBuilder, and NextDoor, platforms which allow civic organizations to focus their campaigns directly at their intended audience, effortlessly capture information about their stakeholders, organize data, create websites, and more.
Date: Tuesday, April 7, 2015
Time: 6:30pm – 8:30pm
