CicLAvia THE VALLEY is this Sunday
CicLAvia, the wildly successful non-profit effort to open historic Los Angeles streets to pedestrians and cyclists has finally made its way to the San Fernando Valley. This Sunday, the 11th CicLAvia event will take place in North Hollywood and Studio City, following a 6-mile path along Lankershim and Ventura Boulevards. Streets will be closed to cars and trucks from 9am until 4pm, allowing participants to these famous Valley neighborhoods using foot, pedal and non-motorized wheel power. Along the route merchants and other businesses will sponsor special shopping, dining, and other opportunities for participants of the event.
In its four year history CicLAvia has helped hundreds of thousands of Angelenos get to know their communities from a different slower paced perspective. This is the first event that will be held in the Valley. Everyone is welcome to participate on bikes, on foot, on skates and in strollers. The route moves south from the Red Line station on Lankershim to the Universal Station, then west on Ventura Boulevard to Coldwater Canyon. NCVV Board Meeting Wednesday, March 25
NCVV’s Board of Directors will meet this Wednesday, March 25 at the Faith Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall at 5000 Colfax Avenue. The meeting will feature updates on some very important topics including the latest news on soundwalls in Valley Village, an update on the proposed Residential Floor Area district, and an election to fill the open Homeowner’s seat on the NCVV Board. The meeting begins at 6:30 pm and light refreshments will be served. We hope to see you at this month’s Board meeting.
