The next Van Nuys Neighborhood Council (VNNC) Planning and Land Use Committee Meeting (PLUM) will take place this Tuesday, February 17 @ 14545 Friar Street, Van Nuys, CA 91401. There are multiple projects on the agenda to engage you, the community, on land use issues for Van Nuys.
We will also update you on the upcoming Planning Summit on March 26 @ 6:00 pm being called “Reimagining Van Nuys, Moving Toward a Sustainable Environment”. This will be the first Planning Summit for Van Nuys, which will address issues like the “Great Streets Initiative,” Recode LA, Plan for a Healthy L.A. and the rest of the initiatives put in motion by L.A. Mayor Eric Garcetti. This is to encourage and welcome the community to get behind creating a better and safer environment for the community.
During the days leading up to the Summit, we will post information on the speakers, videos, articles and anecdotes to prepare get the community to contribute ideas for creating a better and sustainable landscape for our community. These ideas will then be brought to our local government to advise them on what to focus regarding development, design and land use for areas to implement change for the better.
Attached are the agenda for the PLUM Committee and the flyer for the inaugural Planning Summit for Van Nuys and, hopefully, the rest of the San Fernando Valley to promote movement toward a sustainable environment.
Happy Valentine’s Day and President’s Day,
VNNC PLUM Committee
