Greetings Good People of Los Angeles,
As the President of the Van Nuys Neighborhood Council, I would like to formally invite you to discuss election reform and increasing voter turnout this Wednesday evening at Van Nuys City Hall.
Starting at 6:30pm, the Van Nuys Neighborhood Council (VNNC) will be co-sponsoring a meeting with the Los Angeles City Council’s Rules, Elections & Intergovernmental Relations Committee and the City Ethics Commission. Some of the important issues we invite you to participate in discussing are:
– The Municipal Elections Reform Commission Report & Recommendations
– Improving and Enhancing Voter Participation and Civic Engagement
– The City’s Electoral Process: which may include consolidating the City’s elections with State and Federal Elections and a Voter Lottery
This meeting will include a panel discussion of experts, a voter lottery/drawing demonstration project and public comment. For more information please call (213) 473-7010 or contact Erika Pulst in the City Clerk’s office at (213) 978-1075 or email her at [email protected].
Cheers and thank you for your continued interest in our community. I look forward to working with you on municipal election reform, and hope you can make it to Van Nuys City Hall on October 15th, 2014.
