“Our goal is to raise awareness and funds in order to provide vital human services to the people of the San Fernando Valley,” said Hugo Villa, CEO of the Village Family Services. “By joining together, we’re able to direct more resources to both agencies who represent two vulnerable populations: neglected and abused youth, and adults with developmental disabilities.”
This is the first time Valley Village and The Village Family Services have come together to host a community event that will benefit two San Fernando Valley organizations that are in need of awareness and resources. These two nonprofits serve different populations, yet share a vision of building a better community for all.

“The collaborative efforts between Valley Village and The Village Family Services have been tremendous, and we look forward to seeing everyone come out to support the event,” said Valley Village Executive Director Debra Donovan. “Partnerships like this allow us to maximize funds and make our programs stronger for the clients we serve.”

Valley Village and The Village Family Services will be hosting the event with the help of the Chatsworth Chiefs, a local cross country track and field training group. As participants register, they will be able to create teams on behalf of either organization to raise additional funds. Sponsors include Kaiser Permanente, Daily News, Metro, Fleet Feet Sports in Encino, Santa Clarita Running Company and the Bobby Sherman Volunteer EMT Foundation.
