¡Altars, food trucks, face-painting, amazing bands, and a bar en el centro de Los Ángeles!
On November 1, 2014, Grand Park will host a Dia de los Muertos concert event, hosted by Mario Hernandez and featuring music by Palenke Soultribe, La Chamba, Very Be Careful, and DJ Paw, and dance by Xocoyote (Aztec), Nueva Antequera (Oaxacan), and Grandeza Mexicana Folk Ballet Company.
The event will also feature altars (Bring Your Own Offerings for the community altar), traditional and folkloric sculptures, and large-scale botanic installations created by Lore Productions.
Face painting will be available from 3pm to 8pm and will be FREE for children 12 and under and $5 for adults.
Food will be provided by Curiel’s Mediterranean Greek Cuisine, Fahrenheit LA, Jugo Verde Today, Lion King Productions, and Pop-Gram Kettle Corn.
Dia de los Muertos altars will be on display from October 26 to November 1st during park hours (5:30am – 10pm).
Grand Park is transit accessible via the Red and Purple Lines to the Civic Center/Grand Park Station, or the Gold Line to the Little Tokyo/Arts District Station.
