Memorandum Quebec is in regards to the AB 60 Event, and working alongside Assemblyman Adrin Nazarian’s Office to make it a community success.

Our Neighborhood Council has been invited to participate in the License Forum (Taller de Informacion Sobre Licencia de Conducir) that Assemblyman Adrin Nazarian is hosting and sponsoring.

As Council President, I am making the Executive Decision to put this on the Agenda next week, and see how we can participate and be involved.  Below you will find an email from Dora Esparza who works in Assemblyman Nazarian’s Office.  I believe we should move on planning this and please let me know if you can volunteer or want to be a part of this in any other capacity.

This is the email from Assemblyman Adrin Nazarian’s Field Deputy word for word,…

”Hello George,

I hope this email finds you well.

On behalf of the Assemblymember I would like to see if the VNNC would be interested in participating in our License Forum (Taller de Informacion Sobre Licencia de Conducir).  We are partnering up with different non profits, consulates, CHP and DMV in order to put this event together and are thinking of hosting if at the Church on the Way (if permitted). We are also asking the PCNC to participate.

The event will take place on August 15, 2014 from 6:30pm until 8:30pm.  The idea is to be able to have information and questions answered about the new law that will allow the undocumented to be able to apply for a driver license in the state of California.

The role that the neighborhood council will play in this event would consist of having a table at the event, helping promote the event all over the community and if possible we wanted to see if the Neighborhood Council could sponsor a translator.  The idea is to have the event in Spanish with an English translation which the DMV will provide.  But in addition, we wanted to have two more translations possibly in Tagalog and Armenian just in case there were individuals speaking the language that would be interested.  The idea is to see if Van Nuys and Panorama City can each help sponsor a translator.  If that is not possible we completely understand.

Lastly, if interested in participating if you can please send me the logo of the VNNC as soon as possible.  That would be great!

Looking forward to hearing from everyone at the N.C.

P.S I have send Debbie the Event request form for the Sex Trafficking Summit.  Also, a special thank you to Maria who has been great support in putting events together and reaching out to try and get events out in the community while involving the N.C .  (This event and blood drive)

Best Regards,

Dora Y. Esparza”
