Los Angeles summer nights are the perfect opportunity for outdoor movie screenings, and Thrillist has compiled a list of all 112 currently scheduled outdoor films for this summer. Among other venues, Pershing Square, Hollywood Forever Cemetery, and Exposition Park are all hosting movie screenings throughout the summer.
Screenings run from May to the end of September, and many, including those at Pershing Square and Pan Pacific Park, are completely free of charge. Most venues allow patrons to bring picnics and lawn chairs, and some even allow well-behaved leashed dogs. Movies range from cult classic like The Big Lebowski and Pulp Fiction to family favorites including National Lampoon’s Vacation and Jurassic Park, to recent blockbusters such as Gravity and The Dark Knight.
Neighborhood councils have been part of organizing some screenings, and these events can be a wonderful way for the community to come together with their families and friends, enjoy the balmy summer nights, and relive some of their favorite classic movie moments. Pack a picnic, bring a blanket, and enjoy your favorite old and new flicks in a new way!
