About Beth Hillel Day School: Beth Hillel Day School develops children’s academic skills, individual talents and Jewish identities within an inclusive school community affiliated with the Reform Movement. Beth Hillel Day School educates and nurtures children from age 2 through sixth grade, providing an educational experience that immerses students in critical thinking, problem solving, creative expression and collaborative learning. Small classes allow teachers to appreciate and challenge each child while nurturing their natural curiosity. The hands-on approach inspires students to be self-directed and confident learners who willingly take on new challenges. Jewish values inform every aspect of our curriculum so students emerge with a strong Jewish identity that enables them to make wise choices as adolescents and adults. Students learn Hebrew using immersion methodology, developing a personal connection to the state of Israel and appreciation for Hebrew as the language of the Jewish people. Children discover and develop their talents through classes in art, music, physical education and technology. They create original, imaginative work in the visual and performing arts. Through academics, performances, school assemblies, and social action projects, every child has an opportunity to be a leader. The school seeks students who are motivated to learn, faculty who are engaged in professional learning and thoughtful reflection, and parents who work in partnership with the school.
The preschool was set up as a co-op in 1950 and in 1975, was made an official part of the Temple with the hiring of a full-time Director. Temple Beth Hillel was formed on December 11, 1946.
