a. Swearing In and Seating of Van Nuys Neighborhood Councilmembers for 2014 – 2018 term.  Also Administer the “Oath Of Office” (Special Guest TBA)
b. VNNC to consider and vote upon registered applicants for “Senior Seat”
c. Start planning and working on the 4th of July Concert at the Van Nuys Civic Center.  The VNNC will be collaborating with the Valley Cultural Center to host a concert at City Hall along with a festival celebrating the United States of America’s 238th Birthday.  (Funding NTE $2500)
d. Los Angeles Alliance for a New Economy (LAANE) and Unite Here Local 11 to give presentation on Raise LA ordinance that will 1) raise wages to a living wage of roughly $15, 2) ensure five paid sick days a year, and 3) protect workers’ tips.  VNNC to vote on possible letter of support on Raise LA campaign to secure a living wage for hotel workers in Los Angeles. — (Doug Carter & Roy Samaan — Research & Policy Analyst)
e. 5608 Van Nuys Blvd. Request letter of approval from the board on a Conditional Use Beverage License to serve beer and wine in a fast- casual restaurant. Proposing for the conditional use permit to permit the sale and dispensing of alcoholic beverages for on-site consumption in conjunction with the proposed restaurant. Beer and wine only. Hours of operation: 11:00 am – 10:00 pm daily to match open/close of restaurant. Case no.: ZA 2013-4137 CUB (Greg Taylor)
f. Plan to bring back the Van Nuys Video Conference to LA City Hall Council Meetings
g. Address “Bandit Taxi” sources littering and saturating bus stops, newspaper racks and pay phones in Van Nuys and Reseda with business cards and flyers.  (LAPD & City Attorney Briefing)
h. Valley Bikery Request for Funding (Money being requested for their non-profit organization and for being partners for the People St. & Bringing Ciclavia to Van Nuys)
i. Training the entire Board in all new policies and procedures (DONE Staff) 1 1/2 hours
j. VNNC Funding for Valley Alliance of Neighborhood Council’s Mixer on April 10th, with money going to support the event.  (NTE $500)
k. Update and planning briefing on VNNC “Disaster Preparedness Summit” (G. Thomas)
l. VNNC to submit a Community Impact Statement saying “The Van Nuys Neighborhood Council opposes the relocation of Fire Station #39 to the corner of Oxnard and Vesper per the mitigated negative declaration of February, 2014 and Fire Station 39’s relocation be to the NW corner of Friar and Cedros or any other feasible site considered by the City for such purpose or otherwise.”
m. VNNC to re-approve the outreach budget for expenditures of promotional items to promote the council. (NTE $2500)
n. Van Nuys Recreation Center to request $1500 for the summer carnival.  The money is to be used for supplies, equipment, possible renting of bounce houses, purchasing food and drinks, etc. (Ms. Sheila White)
o. Discussion and debate for invoice submitted by Ritz Calvo.
p. Address process of creating a no-vending zone around Saint Elizabeth’s Church and Van Nuys High School. (CD6 Chief of Staff Jim Dantona and Candido Marez)
q. Update on the progress for naming of Delano Park after Monica Benavidez and placing an honorary plaque for Ms. Benavidez at or near the baseball field.  (Candido Marez)
