Join Councilmember Joe Buscaino 15th Council District save our streets!
This week, the Chief Legislative Analyst (CLA), and City Administrative Officer (CAO) released a detailed, comprehensive joint report on our Save Our Streets LA (SOSLA) proposal, as requested by the City Council in August 2013.
The report responds to 24 specific instructions from the Council for additional information on the scope of the project, funding options, and ways to increase efficiency and ensure accountability on what would be the largest local street and sidewalk improvement program in the country.
We are committed to having an open, transparent and public discussion about this proposal. In order to facilitate that, we encourage everyone to read the report, available on online at www.SOSLA.org
On Wednesday, April 2nd at 6 PM in the Public Works Board Room at City Hall, we will be hosting a public briefing on the report. We encourage all stakeholders to attend.
We would like to thank the staffs of the CLA, CAO, Bureau of Engineering, Bureau of Street Services, Bureau of Contract Administration, the Board of Public Works, and numerous other city departments for their countless hours of research and analysis in preparing this report.
Our streets and sidewalks form the backbone of our local transportation system. Every visitor, every resident, and every business owner uses our streets and our local economy is dependent upon the ability to move people and goods throughout the city. It is critically important that all stakeholders understand the seriousness and importance of this issue, engage in the conversation, and work cooperatively toward finding a solution.
