SUMMARY:Southeast Valley Community Plans Update team & Office of Historic Resources (OHR) Event
DESCRIPTION:We need your feedback about historic resources in your community! Join the Southeast Valley Community Plans Update (SEVCPU) team and City Planning’s Office of Historic Resources (OHR) on November 20\, 2024 at 6 p.m. for a workshop focused on historic preservation possibilities in the Southeast Valley! \nThe workshop will cover how the Zoning Code update provides opportunities for historic preservation\, the relationship between historic preservation and city and statewide legislation\, and most importantly\, a discussion about historic resources identified through SurveyLA\, the citywide historic resources survey\, in the Southeast Valley. The workshop will consist of a short presentation followed by breakout rooms organized by community plan geography and led by city planners ready to hear your input on historic preservation in the SEVCPU. \nWhat are the unique historic neighborhoods\, outstanding examples of residential architecture\, significant commercial anchors\, and places associated with local social and cultural history that matter most to you? \nWe welcome anyone who cares about preserving history\, architectural and cultural character\, and historic resources in the Southeast Valley! \nThis event will be a virtual meeting and will take place on Wednesday\, November 20\, 2024 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Please use the Zoom link below to join the Webinar. \nhttps://planning-lacity-org.zoom.us/j/87965702224 \nMeeting ID: 879 6570 2224 \nIf you need translation services\, please contact planning.southeastvalley@lacity.org and we will work to accommodate your request. \nIf you are unable to attend or want to share your thoughts in advance of the meeting\, please fill out the following Google form to share what historic resources\, places\, and neighborhoods are important to you. SurveyLA results are accessible at HistoricPlacesLA.org the City’s online historic resources inventory and management system. Please click on a community plan area below to be taken to a map in HistoricPlacesLA that shows surveyed historic resources. \nNorth Hollywood – Valley Village \nSherman Oaks – Studio City – Toluca Lake – Cahuenga Pass \nVan Nuys – North Sherman Oaks \nAbout the Southeast Valley Community Plans Update (SEVCPU) \nIn Spring 2024\, the SEVCPU team released the Draft General Plan Land Use (GPLU) Designations and StoryMap for the following three Community Plans: North Hollywood – Valley Village\, Sherman Oaks – Studio City -Toluca Lake -Cahuenga Pass\, and Van Nuys – North Sherman Oaks. Since the release of the Draft GPLU Designations\, the SEVCPU team has met with Neighborhood Councils (NC)\, NC Planning and Land Use Committees\, business groups and residents associations and hosted four days of office hours sessions. The team has also tabled at numerous community events\, and spent time with stakeholders across the Southeast Valley to discuss the latest proposal and answer questions from the community. As we wrap up the outreach phase\, the SEVCPU team is segueing into drafting proposed zoning and policy documents this fall and winter. We welcome feedback on Draft GPLU Designations and proposed land use strategies; please share your thoughts in the feedback form\, visit our website\, and/or email questions or comments to the team at planning.southeastvalley@lacity.org. \n
