DESCRIPTION:Students from CSUN Department of Urban Studies and Planning are conducting a background study of the Van Nuys neighborhood as part of the Van Nuys Resiliency Planning Project. Each student is responsible for analyzing one neighborhood indicator (such as business activity\, housing conditions\, environmental quality\, open space availability\, infrastructure\, or natural hazards- to mention few) using secondary data sources. Their analysis includes graphs\, charts\, tables\, and GIS‑based maps. Students compare Van Nuys’ numerical characteristics to those of the City of Los Angeles and present mapped data within the broader context of the San Fernando Valley.
