On Wednesday, June 12 our newly elected Van Nuys Neighborhood Council Board was sworn in by City Council Member Paul Krekorian who also brought us an update from City Hall and took questions. Among his notable news was that City Council has banned discrimination for rentals on the basis of the tenant having a Section 8 Voucher. It is hoped that this step will accelerate housing for the homeless.
The Board then elected new officers and filled two vacant seats. We welcome new members:
Riguey Mercado, At-Large Resident Representative Zone 1 (2021)
Sandy Moreno, Non-Profit #1 Representative (2021)
