P1000820 My Fellow Citizens,

It is with a heavy heart that I write this, as next week is my final meeting as the Council President.

It has been a wonderful experience serving as the President, but I am afraid it is time for me to move on. (As I am officially termed out, and four years is a long time to preside over a local government.)

Please join me next Wednesday night at the Van Nuys Neighborhood Council’s General Meeting.  The fun starts at 6:30pm and will run until midnight. (We will be ordering Armenian food, and it is second to none.  The hummus is award winning, and the skewered chicken is something to write home about.)  Seriously, come by and make yourself a chicken pita taco, it is the best food in the San Fernando Valley.

Ever since I went to Sacramento with my elementary school in the fourth grade, I have wanted to serve in public office.  This experience of serving on the council and presiding over a local government for four years has been a dream come true.  I thank everyone that has supported me throughout the years, and even those that have opposed me, as it has made me a stronger person.

It has been a special privilege to serve as the Council President and Honorary Mayor of Van Nuys, and I thank you for this great opportunity to be a part of our community.  Cheers.
