CANOGA PARK, CA – Tony Hawk and members of the Birdhouse Skateboards team will join Councilmember Bob Blumenfield and City leaders on-site to help the community inaugurate the Lanark Skate Plaza: a brand new 14,000 sq. ft. street plaza style skatepark set among old-growth trees at Lanark Recreation Center in Canoga Park.

A pro demo by Hawk and the Birdhouse Skateboards team will follow the grand-opening ceremony and ribbon cutting.

The City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks has been working with local youth on a skatepark since 2011. The new skate plaza is the first in the West San Fernando Valley and was partially funded by a Tony Hawk Foundation grant.
