APRIL IS DISTRACTED DRIVING AWARENESS MONTH

Eighty percent of American drivers believe hands-free devices are safer than using a handheld phone. But that is just not the case. More than 30 studies show hands-free devices are no safer because the brain remains distracted by the conversation. When talking on a cell phone, drivers can miss seeing up to half of what’s around them, such as traffic lights, stop signs and pedestrians.

FACT: At any given daylight moment across America, approximately 660,000 drivers are using cell phones or manipulating electronic devices while driving, a number that has held steady since 2010. (NOPUS)

Take the Focused Driver Challenge and

pledge to drive cell free.

Accessorize and
Save Lives!

Are you a fan of stylish, well made bracelets, supporting philanthropic groups and saving lives?  Of course you are!!
Who isn’t?!
Bravelets, a company who designs bracelets for non-profit organizations, has recently started this program that offers stylish, well made, specially designed, affordable bracelets for foundations such as Conor Lynch, to raise money and awareness for their specific cause.
They have been gracious enough to add Distracted Driving Awareness to their list of categories.,.Alzheimer’s, Breast Cancer, Multiple Sclerosis and many other worthwhile philanthropic advocacy groups.  We are in great company and couldn’t be happier!
To date, they have raised over $1.2 million dollars for these charities, grown in numbers and added more and more designs to choose from.  By the way…both men’s and women’s styles are available and you not only get to choose which style, but you can also choose from 3 chord colors, teal, yellow and purple.
Lots of fun, lots of choices, stylish, affordable and for each purchase $10 will be donated to the Conor Lynch Foundation, enabling our continued efforts to support new and existing programs that raise awareness and promote safety for pedestrians, runners, cyclists and drivers of all ages.
Go check out our Brave Page and all the designs offered at http://www.bravelets.com/bravepage/conor-lynch-foundation.
Summer’s coming…time to accessorize and save lives!

58% of Teen Car Crashes Involve Distracted Driving
A new study from the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety found that 58 percent of teen car crashes involve distractions. The AAA Foundation analyzed nearly 1,700 crash videos from crashes involving teen drivers and looked at multiple forms of distraction, including interacting with other passengers, use of a cellphone, singing and dancing to music, and looking at something inside or outside the vehicle.
