CÁRDENAS HELPS LA BUSINESSES, NON-PROFITS SECURE GOVERNMENT FUNDING

(San Fernando Valley, Calif.) – To help businesses and non-profit organizations in the San Fernando Valley seek, and eventually secure, funding from government grant sources, U.S. Rep. Tony Cárdenas will host his second annual grant workshop this Thursday in the Valley.

Guest presenters and congressional staff will cover requirements for local, state and federal grants; different types of grants; and the most effective way for grant writers to ensure they receive the awards they seek. Presenters will include representatives from the National Endowment for the Humanities, Cal Humanities, the Institute of Museum and Library Services and the National Endowment for the Arts.

Cárdenas’ website offers help to local organizations as well, including much of what will be discussed and handed out at the workshop, at http://cardenas.house.gov/services/help-with-grants.

More than 100 local organizations have already RSVP’d for the grant workshop, which will begin at 10 a.m., Thursday, at the North Hollywood Regional Library.
